Ok, so this is a personal story...
7 years ago, I was widowed. I had a lot of lonely nights on my hands and reached out to several of the young widow communities online. I met some really fabulous people across the world who were experiencing the same sorts of emotions I was.
I connected with one widower, Mike, who after chatting a bit, I learned lived and grew up in a city that a lot of my cousins did, in Oklahoma. He was around their same age and also had children that were in the age range of my cousin's kids. At the time, there didn't seem to be any "small world moments", other than I had learned that his wife, was buried in the same little country cemetery that my grandparents and other family members were.
Flash forward, 7 years, while we have never met in person, Mike and I still occasionally keep touch on Facebook. We are both remarried and his family has grown.
Over the weekend, I saw that my cousin Beth had reconnected with some old friends and had a great time out with them on Saturday. On Monday, I saw that Mike and his wife had attended the Noble High School 20th Reunion.
I had a thought... a brief one... "I wonder if of my cousins graduated from NHS in 1980"...
Well, tonight, I saw someone had tagged my Cousin in a photo from the SAME reunion!
Anyway, it's just another FINE example of how there are LESS than 6 degrees of separation!
